Reptile rehoming across Yorkshire

When a reptile outgrows a home, it shouldn't run out of options.

If you can no longer keep a snake, lizard, or tortoise, I'll take it in, assess what it needs, and find it a proper home — with me, or with a trusted local reptile shop.

How rehoming works

A short process, built around what's best for the animal.

01

Tell me about the animal

Species, age, health, housing, and why you're rehoming. Photos help but aren't essential.

02

I assess the fit

I look at welfare needs and space before deciding whether I can take the animal in directly.

03

Properly rehomed

The animal is placed with me or handed over to a vetted local reptile shop for rehoming.

What I take in

From a single gecko to a full collection. If it's not listed here, ask anyway — most reptiles can be placed somewhere.

Snakes

Corn snakes, royal pythons, and similar

Any age or temperament, including animals that need handling experience.

Lizards & geckos

Bearded dragons, leopard geckos, and similar

Including animals with specific lighting or heating needs.

Tortoises & turtles

Indoor and outdoor set-ups

Long-lived animals often need a specialist next home — I know who to ask.

Set-ups & equipment

Vivariums, heat lamps, substrate

Happy to take equipment alongside an animal, or on its own.

Why go through me rather than an online ad

Reptiles bought and sold quickly online often end up with people who aren't set up for their needs.

Welfare comes first

Every handover is assessed against the animal's actual care needs, not just who asks first.

Local shop network

Where I can't take an animal in myself, it goes to a reptile shop I know and trust in the area.

No judgement

Circumstances change. Getting the animal somewhere better is what matters, not why you can't keep it.

Get in touch

Tell me about the reptile and your situation, and I'll come back to you.

What to expect

Serving Leeds and the wider Yorkshire area

Replies are usually within a day or two. If the animal's welfare is urgent, say so in the message.
